2000.10.18 - Greece Update

Hello Everyone,

Thought I should keep you up to date with our trip.

I have tentatively booked the international flights with a flight consolidator through my travel agent for every one, except Ray and Susan (who will be in Italy - and will make their own way over to Athens). The travel agent said he would have the pricing for these flights in March.

If you want to depart earlier for Greece or return home at a later date or even have a stopover, please let me know. Also if you wish to book your own international flights (if you have enough aeroplan points or if you want to fly on a specific airline), again let me know. BTW. If we fly Olympic Airlines the flights are direct non-stop from Montreal to Athens. The international flights are not included in the workshop fee.

I have confirmed our bookings for the three domestic flights in Greece. (We will not be taking any ferries). This is one thing that I said in the initial stages of planning this trip - no ferries! These flights are included in the workshop fee.

We will be departing Ottawa - Montreal for Athens on May 1, 2001 - arriving Athens May 2nd. Two nights in Athens at the Divani Palace http://www.divaniacropolis.gr
This will give us enough time to sight see and take photos in Athens.

May 4, 2001 Athens (ATH) to Mykonos (JMK) we will be staying at the Kouros Hotel http://www.greekhotel.com/cyclades/myconos/tagoo/kouros/home.htm
for five nights.

May 9, 2002 Mykonos (JMK) to Santorini (JTR) On Santorini we will be staying in two different towns. Four nights in Firostefani at Nomikos Villas http://www.greekhotel.com/cyclades/santorin/fira/nomikos/home.htm this is half way (800 meters), between Fira also called Thira (the island's capital) and Imerovigli which is a peaceful and scenic village.

Then we will transfer to the North tip of the island to Oia and spend four nights at Nikos Villas http://www.nikos-villas.com/overview.html

May 17, 2001 Santorini (JTR) to Athens (ATH)
May 17, 2001 Athens to Ottawa - if on Olympic Airways
May 18, 2001 Athens to Ottawa - if on another airline (over night in Athens)
