Ottawa Winterlude Photography Workshop
Join Ottawa professional photographer Garry Black for a winter photographic workshop during Winterlude this February in Canada's Capital city. The workshop will consist of one weekend with 2 full days of photography and two evening classroom sessions with lectures, discussions and critiques. One classroom session will be held before the weekend field trips and the other after.
We will photograph the fun activities and wonderful scenes of Winterlude including the Rideau Canal Skateway, the ice sculptures at Confederation Park, and the snow sculptures of the Snowflake Kingdom at Jacques-Cartier Park.
This workshop will cover the creative and technical aspects used when taking pictures in winter. There will be group and individual instruction with hands on demonstrations during the field trips. Workshop technical topics will cover: Metering, Bracketing Exposures, Night & Low Light Photography, Panning, Focus and Depth of Field. We will also cover tips to create winter images that have impact, such as: Seeing the Light, Lens Selection, Elements of Composition.
This workshop is for anyone who wants to improve their winter photography and is open to photographers of all experience levels, however, you should be familiar with your camera. There will be a maximum of eight participants in this workshop.
Classroom sessions will be held in Garry Black's studio at his residence in Orleans on Thursday, February 11 and Wednesday, February 17 from 7:30 till 9:30 PM. Two day-long field trips will be held on the second weekend of Winterlude, February 13 and 14, 2010.
Fees for this workshop are $200.00 (Canadian Funds) plus G.S.T.
