On this intensive one day advanced workshop we are going to push your creative boundaries and discover new ways of making and creating images. I want you to forget your preconceived ideas about how a photograph should or should not look and unleash the "artist" within you.
The morning segment of the workshop will be on location and will focus on learning how to create impressionistic images using several different techniques with your camera. The afternoon segment will be a classroom session where we will evaluate your images and explore additional techniques using Photoshop. You will learn how colour, tone, light, shutter speed, depth of field, focus, lens focal length, filters and motion all combine and contribute to the creation of photo impressionism.
By the end of the day, you will have the knowledge to begin experimenting and creating visually stunning abstract and impressionistic images of your own.
Topics we will cover:
Multiple exposures (this is possible even though your camera can't take multiple exposures - such as all Canon cameras)
Montages - Orton technique
Camera movement - blurs, swipes and zooms
Long exposures - subject movement
Post processing with Photoshop
