NEW HAMPSHIRE WORKSHOP |
CAMERA EQUIPMENT |
FILM You can bring either print or slide film; it's entirely up to you. There is 1 hour processing available in Gorham for print film (C-41). I will be bringing my processing equipment for slide film (E-6), which I will process in the evenings. You should bring enough slide pages to contain your processed slides and/or empty slide boxes. Daily processing will be available at a cost of $6.00US or $9.00CDN per roll. With regards to the film speed/type - for slide film either 50 or 100 ISO, (I personally prefer Fuji Velvia). For print films you have a wider choice 100, 200, 400 and even 800 ISO. Just remember as the film speed increases the quality decreases. If you are uncertain as to what you should bring, please get in touch with me. As for the quantity of film, it is better to have too much rather than too little. On past workshops the average is between 2 to 3 rolls a day - but it really depends on your shooting style, I shoot between 5 to 10 rolls a day. |
TRIPOD The tripod that I use is the Manfrotto #055 with a 3 way head and a carrying strap. This is a medium weight tripod, although at the end of some days it feels like a real heavy weight. We will be some hiking through the woods (not long - maybe an hour at most, with stops along the way) so you might want to bring a lighter weight tripod for those hikes. |

FILTERS Two filters that I would recommend for the fall colours are a Polarizing filter and a Red Enhancing filter. There is a problem with the Red Enhancing filter in that it turns whites (as in white birch bark trees and clouds) a slight hue of pink, but it is unparalleled in punching up the autumn colour. The only other filter that would "warm" up the colours is an 81A or 81B filter See the article that I wrote about filters it will give you some ideas (or confuse you even more).
