Yesterday's e-mail has brought on more questions and comments, here's a recap.
1/ WET WEATHER
The best way to protect your camera bag in rain, is to wrap it up in a large green garbage bag. You can also use smaller bags to cover your camera, clear plastic bags work well as you can set up your camera and make all of the necessary adjusts while it is covered, then remove the bag just as you are taking the shot. You might want to bring an umbrella along.
2/ CAR POOLING
Bill Young of Ottawa wants to know if any one would like to car pool with him. He will drive down there on the Saturday 29th, but the return is open depending on shooting conditions, i.e. if things are getting better and better, he may stay and return on the Thanksgiving Monday (Columbus Day). Contact Bill directly at Bill.Young@ca.jdsuniphase.com
3/ CROSSING THE BORDER
This is for the Canadian participants, it is recommended that everyone take a passport, and not rely on a driver's license as in the past. Also, I wouldn't mention that you were on a workshop or taking a course, they might misinterpret that into thinking that you were attending a school, you a need special visa (or something like that) to attend a school in the States. It is far simpler to say that you are on vacation to photograph autumn in New England.
4/ PANCAKES
This wasn't a question, I just thought I'd get you started thinking about pancakes. In Sugar Hill just North of Franconia Notch there is a restaurant, Polly's Pancake Parlor which is said to serve the best pancakes in America. Having been there a few times I can vouch for that!
If you have any more questions or comments about pancakes or photography, drop me a note (e-mail).
